Starting off with a simple Hire Purchase
Scheme, NIDC began operating the Refinance Scheme
of the IDBI in 1978 and thereafter schemes of NSFDC
from 1992-93 and NMDFC in 1997-98.
The NIDC had set up a Sugar Mill in 1973-74 and
a Distillery in 1974-75.

TERM LENDING :
Term lending till date has been NIDC's mainstay.
Under various schemes, assistance has been advanced
to over 2700 entrepreneurs (March 2002).
The Corporation shall shortly resume operation of
the refinance schemes of the Small Industries Development
Bank of India (SIDBI) shortly.

INDUSTRIAL ESTATES :
NIDC has two Industrial Estates at Dimapur. The
Industrial Estates covering a total area of 40 acres
has 25 ready built Standard Factory Sheds and adequate
area for small industrial plots. A mini Tool House
is being incorporated at the industrial estate.

EXPORT PROMOTION INDUSTRIAL PARK
: An Export Promotion
Industrial Park (EPIP) in Nagaland is being implemented
by NIDC. Industrial plots as well as Standard Design
Factory sheds with high quality industrial infrastructure,
convention centre, telecommunication facilities,
etc in a secure environment is being incorporated
at the EPIP which shall be completed within the
next 1 year.

NAGALAND HOSTELS LIMITED :
NIDC's wholly owned subsidiary, Nagaland Hotels
Limited, has the only two hotels with Three Star
facilities in Nagaland. Today these two properties
are serving crucial infrastructure requirements
both for leisure as well as business travellers.

TRANSPORT SECTOR
: NIDC, through its thrust in the transport sector,
has created a genre of private transport operators
and today there are private taxis and buses servicing
every remote reach of the State thereby alleviating
the transport and communication bottlenecks, a crucial
infrastructure for development.

MICRO FINANCING :
Besides term loan to the industrial sectors, NIDC
also assists tiny and small borrowers through micro
financing under schemes of the National Scheduled
Tribes Finance & Development Corporation and the
National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation.
